MORE CARNAGE FEATURED: CAKES6G - “A JOURNEY THROUGH WATERCOLOUR PORTRAITS OF THE SOUL”

How many mirrors can a soul survive before it forgets its original face? And when reflection becomes repetition, does the self dissolve — or does it finally become whole?

The face appears and disappears, multiplied by fracture and frame. A single visage unfolds into mirrored labyrinths, its symmetry both beautiful and suffocating. In A Journey Through Watercolour Portraits of the Soul, Cakes6G turns portraiture inside out — refusing the singular, reaching instead for the echo.

The image feels alive in its containment. Watercolour textures pulse beneath a digital grid that slices the serenity of the scene into impossible geometries. Lips hover like questions, eyes stare back from both directions, and the surrounding world — rivers, bridges, lovers by the shore — repeats itself in quiet obsession. It’s an architecture of emotion: an image made of ache, nostalgia, and the recursive cruelty of self-awareness.

This work carries the emotional contradiction that defines MORE CARNAGE: tenderness held hostage by precision, chaos lurking beneath balance. It’s rebellion masquerading as order. The grid — the language of control — fails to tame the work’s emotional turbulence. Instead, it amplifies it.

We see not one face, but the many that exist inside memory, desire, and disillusion. Each fragment leaks into the next. The portrait becomes a landscape of selves — faces that fold into each other, reflected in water, refracted by time. What begins as beauty ends as rupture. What begins as a journey becomes a loop.
