GUTSTRING SHOWCASE - Kathy Wray

I’m driving over the road of impossible realms,

unconstructed.

Electric is a force that steals from my insides,

uninterrupted.

There is a weight upon my chest,

encapsulating time over a thousand years,

a statue I cannot surpass I cannot surpress.

I'm in a meeting with the past that met the future

and missed out on a length of time.

Into frozen experiences of many directions,

that had loop flipped

and reversed upside down in the mind.

You stand and I travel through your knowing.

As there is unshatterable peace,

at an unshatterable price.

From an old fashioned lie,

of an old fashioned life.

When a piece of me is dying alive inside

and If by your day is my night.

How is it that you hide in my dark,

when you are walking in the light.

I ask if you can sculpt me,

until your hands can become mine.

Blood let me to the sun,

so you can hear the other part of me beating as one.

Bury me in the sand,

deflect me and re-divine me,

into the spaces where gravity defy's me.

Because I had seen two snakes intertwining as spines

and traveling towards me,

making marks over painted lines.

Reflect me and redirect me,

along this river through the sand.

When I'm breathing in the stillness of trees in this sand in the breeze,

so I can breathe them out as the stars back into the sky.

Along this open road tonight,

is driving me higher to see further with the light.
